Parlez-vous français?

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Digital Photographer and Lonely Planet Magazine hosted an online competition for writers and photographers last month. The stakes: an all expense paid trip to Toulouse, France on a travel assignment that will be featured in Lonely Planet Philippines' December 2012 issue. Two photographers and one writer are going to France this year, and that writer happens to be our oftentimes quirky and sometimes mental copywriter Rachel Teotico. She's quite the avid traveler having already been in and out of the Philippines three times this year but we're sure that doesn't douse her excitement over this win one bit. Out of over 10,000 entries from 57 countries, a select panel of international judges chose BBDO Guerrero’s entry for their Pepsi client’s programme with MyShelter Foundation’s Liter Of Light project. This follows international acclaim for this project at the New York Clio awards and the Cannes Advertising festival.

The Olympics are over and our heroes have come home to rest their bones and keep fit for the next round of competitions. However, there is a different class of athlete who trains and competes selflessly every day, our mothers. For them, the Olympics of daily life never really ends and Anlene knows this much. Pepsi Pogi: Of Moustache and Men

Pepsi Films hit the web again last Friday with a new spot for Pepsi Pogi, a limited edition gold coloured variant of their soda. With “Over Sa Pogi”, Pepsi takes us back to the time of the chivalrous, moustache wielding romantics of 1990s Philippine cinema who were always ready to defend a fair lady from mohawked goons. And of course, what 90s flick would be complete without an electric guitar and powerful voice to fuel the rock ballad-esque soundtrack. Watch the full two minute spot below:

The most awarded Philippine agency at Cannes

At the recently concluded Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the Philippines took home five Lions. The highest number of Lions awarded to the country since 2007. We contributed four. The most our shop has ever won at Cannes. As a network, BBDO won a total of 81 Lions with work from 27 agencies, more than ever before. This is despite the tough competition of over 34,000 entries (which is also more than ever before).
