BBDO moves Francine Kahn-Gonzales up to leadership role as Tony Harris moves to BBDO Japan
BBDO Guerrero Creative Chairman David Guerrero today announced a new management line-up that sees Managing Director, Francine Kahn-Gonzalez step up to lead the Agency, as Chief Executive Tony Harris moves to head up BBDO Japan.
This move is part of a restructuring of the executive management committee at the Agency, which will be led by Creative Chairman and Founder, David Guerrero along with Gonzalez. This follows the new appointments of Pepper Feraren, previously Head of Planning, as Executive Director of Strategy and Ombet Traspe, the Director of Marketing, who became General Manager in April 2015.
Gonzalez is one of the top 20 women in Asian advertising according to Campaign Asia magazine. She joined BBDO almost a decade ago and has built strong client partnerships, improved internal operations and played a key role in developing talent. She was appointed to her current role as Managing Director in 2012.
The agency has enjoyed an extraordinary run of success in recent years. Twice winning Kidlat Agency of the Year, and being named both Philippines 4As Agency of the Year and Campaign Asia Philippines Creative Agency of the Year. BBDO Guerrero also became the first Philippine agency to enter the Gunn Report World Top 50 and was listed as one the world’s Top 20 Smartest Agencies by WARC.
Harris is leaving the Agency after 4 years to head BBDO Japan. Based in Tokyo, BBDO Japan will be responsible for managing BBDO’s existing global accounts, as well as assisting those Japanese clients seeking access to BBDO’s global capabilities.
David Guerrero said, “Tony has done an amazing job. And he helped bring us to a new level of capability and profile. He also established new standards of professionalism throughout the organization. Moving him to Japan to head a new division is a great way to leverage the talent within the BBDO network. At the same time, it opens up new opportunities for our up and coming leaders. I have enormous faith that the new team is well-placed to take up the reins”.
Francine Kahn-Gonzalez said, “I am very proud to have been given the opportunity of leading the Agency. Tony leaves an impressive legacy. With this new team, I look forward to being able to build further success”.
Tony Harris said, “I have had the most wonderful working partnership with David and the rest of the team here and also with the BBDO network. So although it is sad to leave an office from which I only have happy memories, it is exciting to take up a new adventure in Japan still within BBDO”.
